Developing Your Confidence

This session covers some of the challenges that can be caused by a lack of confidence when applying for jobs and in the workplace and how they can be overcome. We will discuss the kinds of things that can impact confidence such as ‘Career panic’, ‘Imposter syndrome’ and stress, as well as look at practical solutions to manage these. Students will leave this session with the knowledge of how to appear more confident in their CVs, applications and interviews. The session will consist of group discussion and activities to develop their communication skills and allow them to work towards achieving a ‘brag sheet’ and ‘personal advert’ to highlight their strengths. These skills are useful for networking, job interviews and their continued professional development in the workplace.
