Effective Paraphrasing and Citing Evidence - Writing for Academic Success GREENWICH & ONLINE In-Person / Online
More than anything, being able to cite evidence in support of your claims and assertions is an essential feature of academic writing. This session will look at how to introduce citations within your work in an academic format. In addition, the session will also focus on the challenge of paraphrasing, that is taking the ideas of another author and then being able to put these ideas into your own words. Being able to paraphrase well, avoids over reliance on the words of the original text, thus avoiding high similarity rating on Turnitin.
This event takes place online and streamed to the Academic Skills Hub, Stockwell Street Library
