Effective Paraphrasing and Introducing References - Develop your academic writing Online

Develop Your Academic Writing: Effective Paraphrasing and Introducing References

Using evidence effectively is a key part of academic writing. This session will help you integrate sources into your work and avoid over-reliance on direct quotations.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Introduce and use citations effectively in your writing.
  • Support your arguments with academic evidence.
  • Understand the purpose of paraphrasing.
  • Put ideas from sources into your own words accurately.
  • Avoid overusing quotations.
  • Reduce the risk of plagiarism and high Turnitin similarity scores.

By the end of the session, you'll feel more confident using sources, paraphrasing effectively, and incorporating evidence into your academic writing.
