Space Availability - Avery Hill Library

PLEASE NOTE - due to ongoing building works to the exterior of the building, Group Room 5 may be noisy. You may wish to book another space instead. We apologise for any inconvenience.

We recommend you always check our opening hours at all three campus libraries before you travel.

These rooms are strictly for group study use by students. Booking slots are made available fourteen days in advance. You must request your booking(s) in advance of the start time(s).

Library staff process all requests and no bookings are confirmed until they have been approved. Check your emails for updates on the status of your requests. We recommend that you book as early as possible within the two-week window to avoid disappointment as these spaces are heavily booked in term-time. To ensure fair access, you can book up to two hours per week (these can be consecutive bookings or spread across the week). For the purposes of this, weeks begin on Sundays on the system.

Before you arrive, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the information in our General Library Guide.

Please note:

  • To gain access to the room, you must ensure you have your approved booking email and a valid University of Greenwich Gateway ID card.
  • You should report any problems to averyhilllibraryteam@gre.ac.uk or itservicedesk@gre.ac.uk
  • You can only use the study space assigned to you - all confirmed bookings are prioritised.
  • You cannot book a space for another person - if you do so you may be refused entry to the library.
  • Do not move furniture or seating.
  • Never exceed the maximum capacity of each space. Our current capacity limits have been designed and risk-assessed. You can check capacity limits by clicking the blue ‘Info’ box next to the space name on the booking grid or by using the ‘Capacity’ drop-down at the top of this page.
  • Ensure that you leave your space promptly, by the end of your booking.
  • Please leave all spaces clear and tidy at the end of your session and remember to take all your belongings with you.
  • The bookings you make are your responsiblity. Failure to adhere to our rules, expected behaviour or the Personal Conduct Code could lead to your access being suspended.

As capacity is limited, please only book a date that you are going to use and cancel any bookings that you are unable to attend to free the slots for other users. Cancellations can only be made before the booking starts, and bookings cannot be amended or changed on-site by library staff.

Should you have any accessibility requirements, please speak to the member of staff at the Library Welcome Desk upon your arrival, and they will assist you further. Eating and drinking is permitted (no hot food), but please keep this to a minimum.

The University’s Covid Safe Planning Guidance has been updated and renamedInfection Control Guidance”. Please familiarise yourself with this before visiting. We continue to promote sensible behaviour - i.e. getting vaccinated, keeping your distance from others, practicing good hygiene and not attending campus if you have symptoms.
